Academician Tofig Nagiyev participated in the international congress in Paris

The 47th International Congress on International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the 50th General Assembly dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of this institution were held in Paris, the capital of France.

Our country was represented by Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia Scientific Center, Academician Tofig Nagiyev at the congress held with the slogan "Chemistry's boundaries: Let's build our future! 100 years with IUPAC".

Over 30 symposiums, 9 chapters, 8 plenary sessions, about 500 lectures were held within the framework of the congress of more than 3500 chemists. Academician T.Nagiyev made two lectures at the event. Both reports are devoted to oxidative processes that meet the requirements of "Green Chemistry", including the principles of joint approaches to the creation and development of sustainable biomimetic catalysts.

In addition, the 150th anniversary of the periodic table of Russian elements discovered by Russian scientist D. Mendeleev in 1869 was celebrated in the congress.

It should be noted that IUPAC is a leading provider of objective scientific expertise in addressing acute global problems that cover all aspects of chemistry.
