On April 5, 2018, the Open Doors Day was held at the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry named after acad. M.Nagiyev of ANAS for pupils of secondary school № 195 named after Yusif Aliyev in Garadagh district of Baku.

Academician Dilgam Tagiyev, vice-president of ANAS, welcomed the students at the Institute headed by him, adding that the meeting coincides with the second anniversary of April 2016 battles. The spirit of those killed in those battles was commemorated with a minute of silence. The academician stated that in these battles, the National Army soldiers rose to the summit of martyrdom and showed the ways of the victory that we long waited for each of us at the expense of their lives and blood. The invaluable role of patriotic education in our victory in April battles is undeniable.

Then, Academician Dilgam Taghiyev said that great opportunities were created in our country for the development of science, education and their integration at the modern level, stressing the importance of the Academy in this direction. The academician noted that in recent years such events have been continuing at the institute, and the Young Scientists and Specialists Council is particularly active in their work. Academician Dilgam Taghiyev noted that the purpose of such events is to form the outlook of pupils and to increase their interest in chemistry. He informed the students about the history of the academic institute and prominent chemist scientists who were working there.

Then the scientific worker of the institute Sevinj Osmanova made a report on the theme "Proteins, amineurs and their role in nature". The subject was of great interest to the pupils and led to extensive debates. Academician Dilgam Taghiyev and reporter Sevinj Osmanova answered numerous questions of  young pupils, teachers and housewives.

Within the framework of the event a quiz on chemistry for pupils was held and the winners were awarded with diplomas.

The pupils' excursions to different laboratories were organized as well and they were shown a number of interesting scientific experiments in the Analytical Chemistry laboratory.

At the end, a memorial picture was taken and the students left the institution in a high mood.
