Director of the Scientists’ House of ANAS visited the USA

ANAS director of the Scientists’ House, PhD in History Nurida Guliyeva and a group of employees of ANAS visited the USA through the State Department of the United States of America from 18 to June 30.

The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with the activities that are carried out in the U.S in the field of popularization of science, and discuss the possibilities of further expansion of the existing fruitful cooperation.

During the visit, ANAS employees met with an official of the US State Department, head of the program Tatiana Rodzyanko, representative of the House of Scientists in New York Stephen Uzzo, director of the US National Museum of Natural History Anna Devin, president of the World Science Festival Judith Jocks and president of New York State Center of Science and Engineering Seremo McCullough.

During the meetings the sides exchanged experience in the promotion of science and to raise interest in science among young people, the parties came to an agreement on the development of further cooperation.

Director of the Scientists’ House of ANAS also visited Cleveland. During the visit she met with Rector of the Cleveland State University, Professor Debbie Jackson, head of the exhibitions of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History Joe Alpernom, Vice-President of the Scientific Center of the Great Lakes Valencia Davillier, Professor of Botanical Garden Sandra Albro and representative of Western Reserve University Jim Bader.

Also, representatives of ANAS visited the Cleveland Museum of Art, visited the family, Pat and John Shids.

In addition, employees of ANAS visited Florida and attended Florida State University, University of Miami, Coral Gables Museum, and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

During meetings Nurida Guliyeva spoke about the projects and exhibitions, implemented by the Scientists’ House of ANAS. The scientist noted that, the organization led by her, holds periodic meetings with well-known public and state figure and creates conditions for the discussion and exchange of information among scientists about the events taking place in the scientific and public life of the republic and foreign countries.
