Departments for Public Relations will be created at the scientific institutions and organizations of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Ordinance to this effect was taken at a visiting session of the Presidium of ANAS, which took place on June 29 in Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after N. Tusi.

The event addressed the issue of improving public relations activities in scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy. Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev noted in his speech on the subject, that one of the factors that play an important role in organizing the successful integration of Russian science in the international scientific community is to strengthen the information support of science. Underlining the feasibility of establishing in each of ANAS Institute the Department of Public Relations, the academician added that one of the important goals is public awareness of the activities in various branches of science, scientific and technological progress and the results of modern scientific research.

Considering all the above, Presidium adopted a resolution on the establishment of departments for Public Relations at the scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS. Coordination of Public Relations department activities was assigned to the Department of Public Relations and Science Popularization of ANAS Presidium Administration.
