The engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a new material, which like piezoelectrics, curves under the influence of an electric current, picking up or releasing oxygen. Unlike most of well-known piezoelectrics, this material retains its properties at much higher temperatures. The investigation was published in the journal Nature Materials.
