Scientists from the chemical faculty of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov created an electrochemical sensor based on polymers with molecular prints to determine sugars and hydroxy acids. Researchers presented the results of their work in the journal «Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical».

The sensor, developed by scientists, is an electrode modified with a thin layer of polymer. Such sensors are not only easy to manufacture, but also more stable in operation and storage.

Besides, the reagents for their manufacture are much cheaper than enzymes.
