Scientists have received fullerene modifications with antiviral activity against HIV

The scientists from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Moscow State University and the KU Leven Institute of Medical Research in Belgium obtained new substances based on fullerene, one of which has an expressed antiviral activity against the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other Viruses, the press service of Skoltekh reported. The results of the study are published in the journal Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry.
