On May 12, 2016 International scientific-practical conference on Actual problems of modern chemistry and biology devoted to the 93^rd jubilee of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Ganja State University.

In plenary meeting the speech of corresponding member of ANAS, professor, and deputy director on scientific works of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry Mahammad Babanly on the theme “Chemistry of inorganic materials with topological isolator property” was listened with great interest. The scientist spoke about scientific-research works recently carried out in the world in the field of research and application perspectives of topological isolators and stated that on 2015 according to the decision of the Presidium of ANAS the international laboratory was established in the institute and intensive scientific works are performed in this field. He stated that as a result of mutual multidisciplinary works in this field with several international scientific centers this year several papers were published in the journals with high impact factor (Nano Letters-IF 13.94; ACS Nano-IF 12.9; Nano Research –IF 7 and others).

In the conference professors of the Institute Imir Aliyev and Arif Efendy also made scientific speeches on different topics of the conference.
