The leaching process of the main mineral (potassium alunite) from alunite ores with potassium hydroxide solution, proceeding with the unchanged preservation of other minerals (dikkit, hematite, quartz) in leaching residues is investigated. The leaching kinetics of potassium alunite from alunite feedstock was studied by the method of powder dissolution in the temperature range of potassium hydroxide solution 333-368 K and its concentrations 52.96-243.8 g/l. On the basis of the conducted research, the value of Ea is equal to 73.14 kJ/mol-1, indicating that the leaching of alunite from alunite ores is controlled by a surface chemical reaction, and the reaction order with respect to KOH is 1.02. It is shown that the process under study is described by a first-order kinetic equation.
