Chinese chemists have synthesized a molecule capable to remove uranium from bones and kidneys six times more efficiently than well- known drugs.

As a result of the experiments, the scientists found out that the complexing agent almost completely (99.5 percent) washed the uranium from the cells under laboratory conditions, and the degree of excretion from the living organism was lower by only ten percent and did not depend on the time of initiation of therapy.

A study has been published in Nature Communications.
