Chinese scientists have developed a new material that can be used to produce "fireproof wallpaper". It does not contain any dangerous components, it is refractory, and when heated it only turns from an insulator into a conductor, which automatically switches on the alarm in case of fire. They are of white color, differ by mechanical strength and flexibility. A key component of the material developed by Shanghai scientists is the usual hydroxyapatite, the mineral base of our bones and teeth.

Now scientists are planning to work out technologies for the commercial production of new material – perhaps, soon the wallpapers will have to be re-glued.
