  FORMER DIRECTORS

 KRASUSKY KONSTANTIN ADAMOVICH

(1867–1937)

Krasusky Konstantin Adamovich was born on September 14, 1967 in a town of Zaraysk of Moscow region. In 1891 he graduated from Petersburg University.  In 1929 he was invited to Azerbaijan. In 1935–1937 he was an organizer and first director of the Institute of Chemistry of Azerbaijan branch of AS USSR. Determination of the method of combining hpochlorous acid with olefins, study of izomerization reactions going on with participation of organic oxides, issues of investigating an influence of ammonia and amines on organic oxides lay down the foundations of K.Krasusky’s scientific activity. He discovered that when amines combine with asymmetric oxides, hydrogen joins with the few hydrogen containing points and as a result secondary aminoalcohol generates. This process is widely used in organic chemistry as K.Krasusky method.
